OK, I labeled an easy ground point. There are lots of ground points that can be found. If you want to look for a closer ground to your mod point just test for continuation. I use the VGA plug as my referenace point for finding grounds.
The pic I attached it how they should be stacked. If both are set to max you should be pretty close to 100K. Also, when you solder the VR in line on the card there is the possiblity the the addition of the VR with it set to max, that it may lower the cards voltage to where it will not boot properly. Just test voltage readings and start to turn your VRs to raise the voltage to the point it will start working.

Can I get some fresh pics of both sides of the card? I wont to update my thread with this info and the pics here are all over the place. Little hard to follow, plus one of the pics in OP has inaccurate mod point marked.
Also, did you confirm the vMEM mod point? EDIT: Oh wait this is the 9500GT thread. Not going to work in my 9600 thread, but if you get the pics I'll try to clean the mod points up and you can update OP with them.

This marked point is pointing to the wrong pin. If you could get a pic like this w/o the inaccurate data on it that would be great. A pic of the other side of the card so I can point to GPU voltage reading points.
Oh please do post pics of the finished mod. I don't blame you one bit for pulling the MEM mod. Memory modules are much easier killed then GPUs. GPUs are pretty tough. I just wanted to clarify the vMEM mod for others.

I'm done with the vgpu mod and it's working. I'm going to clean up the thread and post the picts in the first post. I may not get the frontal picts till tomorrow or so cause I'll have to strip the card naked again and my cooler is Jerry-Rigged on there... But I'll get some good ones.

Got the vgpu mod done but I had a hard time getting my little molex thing rigged on. I almost burned off the little resistor near the gpu (on the back) trying so I was wondering, could I just put the wire onto the back of one of the caps that gives a vgpu reading..? If I can't get the molex connected onto the resistor here (attached picture) tomorrow I'm going to try and do a quick stick to a cap's solder point.
At 1.28v still a no go on that 925 core. If I get this readout attachment on I'll try 1.30v and go from there. I'm idling at 39/40c now so I'm thinking it should be good for at least a bench run after I redial my cpu oc in. Also thinking of attaching the little fan from the stock cooler and sitting it atop the back of the pcb directly behind the core--I moved the 80mm to below the card--seems to work better there blowing up towards the caps and stuff. Tomorrow, if all goes well, I can start benching.

Yes, use the point behind the caps. That would be the ideal point..

Yeah, that's what I was hoping...I almost ruined the entire project being stubborn and trying to force the solder to that little resistor.
