Talking Gigabyte GV-NX66T 6600GT PCIe Volt Mod

Hi all. I own a Gigabyte GV-NX66T 6600GT PCIe 128mb graphics card and it overclocks hard but artifacts usually appear after 20mins of gaming. I was reading around this interesting section of overclock.net and discovered the art of volt modding graphic cards.

I've read some tutes(not related to my card) on how to perform this using a pencil.

I was wondering if there was anyone out there with the same card who has done this mod?

I could take some close up shots of my board if there's someone out there who can spot the right resistors. Thanks guys/girls !

Sadly, adding more voltage would increase the amount of artifacts if they are due to heat. What temps do you get with it while playing a game? Are you using the stock heatsink?

Good point there PCNerd. My ambient is 19deg C and the idle temp for the card is 39deg C and load temps after playing Need For Speed Most Wanted for 30mins is 54deg C. Are these temperatures considered high? IF so, will addding an aftermarket cooler and doing the volt mod solve the problem?

What is the 'Big Typhoon' of graphic card coolers?

P/S I'm going to add a 120mm intake fan at the bottom of my case and the position of that fan would be somewhere under the graphics card. SO i guess that would decrease temps as well
