I wish they woulda offered my EVGA in a 512mb version.

That is...if it's GDDR3 and it runs at he same speeds....

Default 79 Gt 512

OK now I am lost, I have the Gainward 7900 GT 512mb. Looking into the volt mod business and have come accross that the circuit board is different to the boards that ENTERPRISE1701 had posted and the board that the 7900gt 256mb version is on which you can see here.
http://www.overclock.net/faqs/88174-...d-dummies.html

If possible the volt mod would be nice but even with-out the mod the card comes stock at 550 core- 700 mem which I can clock to about 620core and 780mem stable. Giving me some pretty good performance indeed.

The 3d05 score was 9326 straight out of the box with my current set-up which I am quite happy with. I think the extra ram is beneficial.

This could take a while to sort out as this card is fairly rare and is very new still.

If you can help me then I will be very gratefull indeed

cheers

look at the current voltmods and see if you can read the component numbers that are used in the mods. ie the the numbers next the the resistors that are modded and then try and find them on your card, not sure if this will work just an idea, also look at the 790gtx512 v-mods and compare.

OK I have just done the pencil mod for my card. iker0 found the mod on VR forums. With a few strokes of a pencil over a resistor I managed to up the volts enough for the Over voltage protection to kick in. I had a clean up and then started again and have just raised the volts enough (will posts results soon) for me to reach 660 core. The little mod works and will be experimenting with the multi meter and posting results.

Well after the volt mod and the core running past the 700 mark I managed a healthy 3d05 score. Not bad for a sub 600AU$ card compared to the GTX around the 950 AU$ mark. this is also with the stock cooler which I am thinking might be a little more hefty than the standard 7900gt one, unsure though. I am also interested in knowing how I can monitor the GPU temp whilst running a 3D app. I am a total NOOOOOOOOOOOOB :withstupi when it comes to Nvidia as I have been with ATI for many years. What progs are the go here if any???

Oh yeah the 3d05 score was 10712 with the core @721 and the mem @ 750Mhz.

You will find theres a temp monitor within the Nvidia drivers. Also check out some software called ''Rivatuner'' and ''Coolbits''

Rivatuner: http://www.guru3d.com/rivatuner/
Coolbits: http://downloads.guru3d.com/download.php?det=815

I also beleive Nvidia Ntune also does this. : http://www.nvidia.com/object/sysutility.html
