Default Just A Question

i had asked this in my thread for the 6600 volt mod but i got no reply

when one is able to volt mod through the bios of the graqphics card why do users use the other method of physically voltmodding it ???

and where do they get their extra power from i know that in the bios method the xtra power is achived through the pcie slot but what happens in the other method

thanks

Through bios voltmodding the bios adds new parameters for the amount of Volts it can have and will draw the extra power through the PCI-E slot. As for PCB volt modding im not sure with that actual card.

Also, please understand that with the 6xxx series, you have to do a hardware mod in order to up the Memory voltage. That cannot be done with a BIOS flash.

The only cards that offer decent voltage control are the x1800 and x1900 cards. Slight voltage changes can be done using modded BIOS flashes on other cards, but only offer very small voltage gains and only on the gpu core itself. With a more complex volt mod, you can up the voltage far higher and can also adjust other voltages on the card besides just the gpu core.
