Default Raise the AGP volts?

i got my abit nf7-s mobo, and it can change the agp voltage from 1.5 to 1.8volts. i was wondering how effective changing the voltage is for overclocking

Not very effective I would just overclock the graphics card. Raising the voltage of agp slot can do damage to motherboard and is not worth it.

Raising the AGP slot voltage does not raise the vid card voltage and will not help.

The agp voltage is how much voltage goes to that agp slot. It has nothing to do with the voltage on your video card. Raising this will just fry you card. So don't do it.

Exactly. Do not raise the AGP voltage...it will be goodbye video card. Also, do NOT change the AGP/PCI bus speed for the same reason. Leave that fixed at 66/33

Thats not entirely true

The VAGP adjustment in the case of the Abit S478 boards adjusts the AGP bus which also increases the chipset voltage since they are both linked.

I have mine bumped up a bit to increase stability at 300FSB

Um.. does not matter what else it controls. Raising the AGP voltage will kill the video card. Plain and simple. So its a good idea to leave it alone.

Have you some proof to backup this conclusion?

I run all my cards at 1.6 volts with no problems. Have done so for several years now, and in my experiance, they do overclock better. (Don't go above 1.6, though.)

And Chozart, the AGP frequency does not harm a card untill around 70mhz. Anything below that is perfectly safe, it's just that some cards don't like it too much and artifact. You are correct on the PCI frewuency, though. Raising that can kill hard drives.
