I usually defrag every 2-3 days using Diskeeper Lite and today I came across "112 excess fragments". Is there a way to eliminate them completely? I've tried running the defrag several times with no changes. Please don't say reformat. I just did that 2 days ago and I finally got everything re-installed.

Try using other defraggers. . . it could not be defragging the files in use or the program files itself. . . i use O&O defrag myself . . which ever ones you try defrag then compare with windows . . . see which one (of the progs you try) has the least % when you do an analysis after defrag.
