Default My hard drive wont appear.
My hard drive is a brand new http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16822145082 and all new computer setup. Everything works but the hd it doesnt show up on other computers do I just have to get a new hd.

you have to partion and format it. right click my computer and select manage. find the disk managment page and partioion the disk. then format the partition.

Let me rephrase my previous statement my hd above was installed in a new computer setup it didnt appear. The drive was moved to the old computer refused to appear so I could format it any suggestions?

Go into BIOS and in the first menu (MAIN) navigate to the option IDE Configuration and be sure that SATA is enabled. Unless you set the BIOS to enable and recognise SATA it will not see the HDD--nothing wrong with the drive--it is just a couple of settings you need to change in BIOS.

So yu have the drive configured in BIOS--ot it does not appear in BIOS to configure? Can you try some different data cables?

Try going in Computer Management, then in Disk Management. See if that detects your HD. If it's there and healthy but doesn't appear in My Computer, assign a drive letter to it.
