Ok I have tried everything to get this SATA to boot windows actually the one thing I didn't do is install driver because my MB manufacturer does not have any availible. I posted before and didn't get much help just a little and it had no effect so here we go again.
Ok I bought 2 SATA seagate Barracudas from Soloz2, I only have 1 SATA cable ATM so I have been trying to install XP SP2 on one of the drives. I set my boot seq. to CR/HDD1/floppy and then put my XP disk in the CDrom any press any key so I can get to the format and install screen. Now at this point when I press any key I get only a black screen and nothing else. BUT if I set my old IDE HD as my second boot then I can get to the format/install screen and format and copy windows components to the SATA drive. Now the PC reboots and SHOULD got to the wimdows install screen with the ETA counter and new features screen but this does not happen, I only get a black screen. Things I have tried: I have run all the utilities from the seagate website such as 1. Disk Wizard for windows 2. Disk wizard Starter addition ISO, and Floppy. I installed the latest chipset drivers for my MB but cannot find any SATA drivers. I am really stuck on this one if all else fails I hope Soloz2 will refund my cash and we can have no hard feeling. I mean I can't see spending money on drives I can't use right.

I had a problem similar to this:
__________________When i was installing windows on my SATA HDD, setup would load some drivers, then just hang (keyboard became unresponsive). I realized that my SATA controller did not like the FSB up so high, so i have to down-clock to near-stock to be able to use SATA. IDE is better for OCing IMO. But i think newer mobos have PCI lock or something so upping your FSB doesn't interfere with stuff like SATA. Anyway, try clocking back to stock, then see what happens.

I would rather get new IDE HD than clock back down. I should have added that in windows the drive works fine, I can store all my stuff on it like pics, and vids.

Not sure what you mean by in front but I have tried disconnecting the IDE drive after the format and copy of the SATA. I have tried in with the CDrom 1st in the boot seq. and the SATA ist in the boot seq.

the IDE may not be in the boot sequence. And did you check if your sata gets OCed if you increase your fsb ?

I checked the manuel and I coulnd find anything that mentioned SATA and feqs. together. I will check again as it is late and could have overlooked. Also the IDE is not in the boot seq. unless I want to load windows. or boot the CDrom.
EDIT: I still couldn't find anything.
