Default hard drive keeps getting accessed to often

Hi, recently my hard drive has started getiing accessed like every 10 seconds. Its not much of a problem in windows but when playing css i get jerks everytime the hard drive is accessed and its quite unplayable.

What could be the problem.

Some virus or you may have an open file sharing program installed.

Or bad cluster which can be fix by running windows EROR-CHECKING tool and highlight both boxes to run a full scan.

After installing windows, did you put it on the internet before installing virus software and the latest winXP service pack?

You really can get a virus within minutes of putting you computer on the internet if you are not protected.

Or it could just be windows running self defrag in the background. Try running disk defragmenter on all your hard drives and see if windows stops with the hard disk activity.
