Default IDE and SATA setup question

Good morning guys,

I was going to build a hole new system, but $$$$$$ has got me down to just an upgrade.

My current rig is set up as IDE.
I no i will have to get a fresh copy of windows and reformat.
Now if i was just to upgrade my mobo, CPU, V/C. Can i run SATA on my current HD? ((which is currently running IDE))
Or is it just a matter of cinfiguration on my part?

You won't need a new copy of windows. If you have your cd and cd key you're good.
