I am trying to install windows xp home on my computer, with 2 250gb sata harddrives. I have the drivers, i made a disk to install them from during setup. the disk is setup correctly with all the files in the root directory.
__________________windows setup asks me to hit f6 first thing, but pressing the key doesnt do anything. I let it load stuff for a minute then it tells me there is no mass storage device, i hit s and it asks me to insert the disk. I do, press enter and nothing happens. it just asks for the manufactureres disk again... i enabled sata and the drived in the bios. i am at a loss, i did everything correctly as far as i can tell. please help

Try different SATA ports.

Your shouldnt need sata drivers while installing xp...unless you have the drives in a raid array

i had this exact same problem just a week ago, theres a thread on it around somewhere, but i tryed everything as well and nothing worked. i eventually used it as an excuse to buy a whole new system.
I dont have any experience with asus customer service but abit was pretty good about it, they said they would send me a new manufacturers disk. so u can try doing that and see if theyll do that for you
