Hello,

I just got in the mail a Toshiba 120gb 2.5" which I will have a use for. For now, I'm trying to hook the drive up to my PC, and it looks like all is well. I have a VIA Raid Controller installed and it recognized the drive, I go into the Add Hardware in Windows and the drive is there, but the drive is not listed in places like My Computer. I am trying to use Norton Ghost to copy the contents of one drive and put it on this one, but my C:/ is the only one on the list. Anyone have any idea what I need to do to get it to where I can use the drive?

The drive must be formatted before it will show in "my computer".

You have to right click My Computer and hit Manage. Then go to disk management. You have to create a partition on the drive.

I supposed it had to do something with that, but how can I format it?

Go into control panel then admin tools, computer managment and then storage and finally disk managment.

Your drive should be listed as un-partitioned, right click on the drive (make sure it's the right one) and format it!!

This man is on the right track. It will ask you to format after the partition has been created.
