I'd go with SATA but all I know are IDEs and SATAs... so might want to wait for someone else to respond

Yeah. All I use is IDE and SATA. I would go with SATA. I never heard of PATA before.

don't expect a faster burn or anything really since opticals aren't fast anyways...
but between IDE and SATA go with SATA for the easier to deal with cables, better airflow from the smaller cables, and IDEs are disappearing, so boards might phase them out... also I RMAed my IDE for the exactly same one with a SATA connector and it was only $10 more

i know but im just wondering if the sata drives are as easy to install as the pata(ide) and is they need any drivers?
