Can this be done or would I have to backup the image onto another disk and then re-copy?
Thanks, Ken

You'd have to back up the disk onto another disk, yeah. Then format and setup the RAID5 configuration.

I am not sure, but Intel Matrix Storage Manager may be able to do this.

I believe that if you want to change ANYTHING w/ a RAID configuration, besides turning RAID 1 into a single disk or a single disk into RAID 1, you have to format all drives involved.

For RAID0 to RAID5, you also need to reformat. However, RAID5 is usually not recommended unless you have a dedicated RAID5 card since it requires a lot of calculations.

Oh, I thought with a singel disk -> RAID 1, it could mirror an existing drive.

depends on the raid controller... chances are if you didn't spend at least 300 on the controller it will not support array modifications.

I think I can calm down my storage paranoia with a bigger back up drive.
