Default Don't think my mobo can support my hard drive

I have a gigabyte motherboard Ga-8IPE1000-G Rev 4.I looked up Gigabyte and went to my boards specs and it listed that I can only hook up a sata hard drive up to 150 gb/s.Maybe that's why my seagate 300gb/s doesn't work. What do you guys think?

sata 2 drives should auto work with any sata 1 connection...

maybe you need a bios update to get it to work, or even go into your bios and see what options you have. You may have to manually configure the sata controller to see only sata 1 drives.....

No you dont need a bios update. The hard drives have a jumper pin on the back to make the 300 drive work at 150 which will allow your motherboard to support it.
