Default Hate Red Sata Cables?

Info:

I started this project because i was not going to spend 20 dollars per cord for black cords. So i made my own.

Materials Needed:

Scotch Blue Painters Tape:

Paint:
(You can use whatever color you want. I just chose black)

Sata Cords:

Drying Time:

All Drying times differ. If you use a plastic based paint is should only take roughly 2-4 hours to dry. Usually i wait 2 days, if you live in a humid area. If you use Metal paint, It can take a while to dry. ( usually 1-4 days.) Check the back of your paint can and see what the drying time says.

Step One:

Tape Off the ends of the sata cord.

Step Two:

Hang the Cord High up somewere.

Step Three:

Paint the Cord. Make sure to get the edges.

Step Four:

Allow the Paint to dry.

Step Five:

Have fun with a Black Sata Cord.

Does this actually work? I was considering it with my IDE cables, but was worried it would flake off when the cable is bent?

I would only use water based spray paint on cables because some of the tougher oil based ones can eat away at plastic.

Where did you find black cables for $20?

I found them here for $3.49.

Also my mobo came with two black ones for free.

Dude, yes! I need black SATA cords because they would be less of in eyesore in my case, however for some reason not many people carry them and they're ridiculously expensive including shipping.

This is a perfect solution for the 25+ ugly red SATA cables I have laying around!

+REP to you, sir. You are a gentleman and a scholar.
