Default what's the purpose of RAID 100?

wiki reference

So i spent my day trying to figure this out. In doing so, I constructed some theoretical RAID arrays, including:

"RAID 101"
"RAID 001"
"RAID 010"
"RAID 0001"
"RAID 1000"

and then i even went as far as implementing RAID 6:

"RAID 601"
"RAID 6101"
"RAID 6111"

(you can see the useless work i did here (excel spreadsheet))

It appears that if you just remove the top level RAID 0 that you'd essentially just have one large RAID 10 array. I guess i've gotten myself all confused as to why a third level of RAID is used...

just for fun, i tried putting together a RAID 666 array, but it just isn't feasible, haha.

Hay this is actually quite cool ! I knew about basic RAID's, like 0 & 1, but had never heard of "blocking" before.

Cool to know ! Thanks !
