Default Cd Drive Emergiency!!!
alright i was just using my pc a while ago and i decide to put in a cd. funny thing was it wouldn't open. checked my computer, and there was no icon. disconnect and reconnect all the cables and still no go. so i bored a dvd-rom from my friend and plugged it in along side. use a different ata cable that came with my mobo and know the drives will power open and everything but they still aren't recognised. my bios sees the dvd-rom as the primary slave. but my computer doesn't see either drive..... HELP!!

the SAME thing happened at my uncles and it turned out that both were fried, but it could also be a windows issue

Or the CD-drive is fried is you best bet.. id you try all the other slots?

right now i've tried the cd drive in all the slots. it seems like its working....it opens and stuff i think its something in windows that needs fix. the dvd drive must be working, cuz it's recognised and right before i took it outof my friends pc it worked. any suggestions inside windows?

Get the drivers. Use the add enw hardware feature maybe?

right click my computer, click manage, click disk management on the left side near the bottom, and see if your cd drives are recognized and healthy

it doesn't see them so igo into the list of all the manufacturers and lg isn't on it? what device category is it in?
