Default Western Digital Caviar SE16 640GB

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16822136218

I was going to place my order and as soon as I did I found out they are OOS! So I was wondering if you guys can recommend a good/decently fast Hard Drive for around the same price.

they are 250gb drives. they have faster sustained bandwidth then that drive and are about half the cost which means two fo them for about the same price

Samsung has traditionally been a leader in silent HD's. I cannot discern any more noise out of these than my 500GB WD KS.

The 1TB F1 is one of the fastest HD's on the market currently, and while I haven't seen any figures posted many believe the 750's might be faster.

kind of what I was hinting at
60 bucks a pop means you can get two drives at the same cost which would give you a total of 500gb if you raid them together. this way you get your 500gb's, the same cost, and yet faster speeds as the two drives work together.

edit ok just noticed that you where looking for a 640mb drive in the title for soem reason I read 320. still my comment stands though with for the same price it the 2x250gb drives will be faster then the single 640gb drive.

So does the 750MB have platters or not??
