Default HDD Shopping!

I'm actually looking for another internal HDD for my computer, as well as an external for PS3. I'm looking for lots of storage, somewhere around 500GB, and was looking for recommendations on what to get for both the internal and external hard drives.

For the PS3 - get a 7200.10 because they have excellent prices. And then pick an external enclosure you like, pretty much any of them will be good.

For the PC, get a WD6400AAKS. Its excellent sequential transfer rate won't bottleneck transfers between it and your raptor.

Yes those WD Caviar SE16 are great Hard Drives. I have the 250GB version and it has been performing flawlessly for almost a year.

When that Velociraptor comes out.... man it is GAME OVER!

Too bad those aren't really the same class of drives. The 640gb one has 320gb platters, the 250gb one is just a single 250gb platter. Higher platter density = faster sequential transfer.

You should upgrade :P

Thanks Manyak! That WD was actually the one I had put on my wishlist when I had been looking earlier, so it's nice to see that I made a decent choice for once .
