Default Velociraptor for $220 = Worth it?

Well I have the ability to get a few Velociraptors for $220 and some change each. I'm seriously considering getting 1 or maybe 2 and doing raid-0 and using my current 320 in an external enclosure for backups etc. Is it worth the price? I know they retail for $300 but would I notice a difference between my current and the Velociraptor?

Also before anyone asks I cannot share this deal!

Hell yes it's worth it for 220

In RAID-0 it will beat, rape, murder, then take a poop on the corpse of your 320GB seagate.

That's what I'm thinking. My HDD's tend to last me a very long time. They will probably go into the next 2 PC's of mine if SATA remains the standard for a while.

um, velociraptors in raid 0, i mean that would really be nice, if you have the money for it id say go for it, although, personally i believe that the raptors are to be used as the main hdd with the OS since they are fast and im not willing to buy another just to raid them lol, well that's me, and i kinda prefer 2 x 320 caviars in raid 0, that's all i have to say, imho. but for the price you are gettin it at, it seems really nice, you should compare gb/dollar with the other 10k rpm drives to see if it is a good deal with the warranty.

Hands down it is worthwhile. I have that 320GB Seagate. It's fine and all. But I'm upgrading to RAID 0 on two 500GB 7200.11's, with a 1TB 7200.11 for storage. I wish I could get a deal like that on the Velociraptors. Because to me, that's the only step to take to get a faster setup than what I'm going to have. Jump all over that deal!!

IDk if I will go raid just yet. Anyone care to guess how much faster will just one be?

And you want the deal? I don't suggest you PM for info but I can't force you not to. I can't hook you up but maybe you know someone who can. Not that I would condone that after all.

Get it. If you don't like it... sell it for $280 and make a profit.
