I have those exact same two drives in RAID 0, but I have a 7200.11 for storage/backup. But I am curious to here the answer to your question, if there is one. In case my board or something dies in between back ups. Subscribed awaiting answer.

I found an article on tom's hardware that says raid 0 migration is possible from one controller to the other... The SB600 failed on all but 1 migrations, and it seemed it didnt fail the last one due to similar architecutre of the raid...

If you can connect the drives to a similar controler in the same order, and make an identical raid 0 (same stripe size and everything), then run restoration software to scan the new raid, you might be able to recover what was on it.

Never install anything on any drive you intend to use a recovery program on. Data that has had been overwritten cannot be recovered.

buy or get from rma an identical board. setup the raid exactly as is was. In a perfect world that's all you would need to do. But since we don't I would recommend getting another hard drive, load up an os on it, and recovery software on that. Then try to recover data from the raid that way. Good luck, and let us know how everything works out.

This is a good example to use the built in backup software in Vista. I have 2 250s in RAID0 and then weekly Vista backs up my "My Documents" folder onto another drive in my computer.

You just need a board with the same or newer marvell controller.
As soon as you hook up the drives it will automatically detect your RAID and you can work on it as if nothing happened.
