Question Raid 0 External?

I've been wanting to run a couple raptors in RAID 0. However, there is not enough space in my case. Is it possible have an external setup, and not lose any speed?

If you have eSATA ports on your case you could do it. You can get an external enclosure for the drives at NewEgg:

The problem is that enclosures that hold more than one drive can be pricey. What kind of PC case do you have? You might be able to mod some space or rearrange your setup.

Would an external enclosure allow for the same speeds as having them directly linked to the main board?

External RAID enclosures have their own RAID controller.... That means they are usually $200-400 just for the enclosure. Run SATA cables to external HDs is not recommend for RAID. A disconnect can corrupt your data.
