Default Hitachi Hard Drives?

Hey, I'm in need of a new Hard Drive, and I was looking around, and I saw I could get a 160Gb Seagate Hard Drive, or a 360Gb Hitachi Hard Drive for my max amount to pay for a Hard Drive atm (AU$90), I know Hitachi's Hard Drive division was brought from IBM, which had.... issues, and I was wondering if they're better now? Since the extra storage would be a blessing.

I've been running my Hitatchi Deskstar for almost 6 years now with absolutely zero issues. The "Deathstar" moniker was not accurate, in my opinion, in post-IBM Deskstars.

Same with Chipp - just alot longer. Had a 40GB Hitachi since 2000/2001 or so, and it's still running

Make sure you sandpaper the hole, and then put some U rubber over it to avoid sharp edges. Put some grease around the newly drilled hole, and then screw your computer, screw it hard. Maybe install some UV lights and turn em up to indicate that your computer is also excited.

Hitachis are very good hard drive, their failure rate is actually better than ST and WD in some cases.

Hitachi has some of the fastest drives out there for notebooks. Before the 7200.11 and WD AAKS series, I remember their large drives were the fastest for their size. I'm not sure if that still applies but Hitachi makes very good drives nonetheless. Go for it.
