I want to take apart a couple of Seagate FreeAgent's (not Pro edition) that I have so I can just use them internally... rep+ if you can find me something like this

well a hdd is a hdd, it just depends on whether its sata or ide. just open one up and see which it is, then you can plug it into your desktop and read it just fine.

By taking apart the FreeAgent case, you'll never be able to use it again. The drives, however, function as normal within a PC.
Just split the case down the seam and go careful on the bottom. Simple. ![]()

You can always get enclosures for cheap on the egg, around $30+.

I pulled apart a WD passport enclosure
check my system specs easy enough...just took a little patience edit: I also put it back together and you couldnt tell it was apart
