I just finished building a server with 2 sata 120GB HDD's.When I start up the comp it will enter bios and get as far as the windows welcome screen then bsod,I get this message STOP: 0x0000007B Check for viruses on your computer remove newly installed HDD's & controllers, make sure they are properly terminated run chkdsk/f to check for hard drive corruption then restart computer. I've taken out the cmos battery, tried booting with several different OS's,just to wipe the drive, tried safe mode all to know avail. Now just today I got a message that my cmos battery is low
I never heard of such a thing.Anyway I got these hdd's from a local comp shop for some old ram, could it be that these drives are shot ? BTW on has XP media 05 pre-installed and the other Win server 2003 per-installed. TIA

Try swaping out your ram, when ever I get a BSOD ram is typically the problem
__________________If your willing to erase the drive completely get a copy of DBAN and scrub your drives clean. But a linux live CD works just as well. Reinstall, and see if that made a difference

unless you're running the same mb, northbridge, southbridge etcetera then you need to reinstall the OS.
Probably driver conflicts causing the bluescreen. Format and install a fresh OS

@ares --One of the first things I did was to swap out the ram(same result) and I tried linux.@CravinR1 I'm trying to a fresh install but can't seem to get that far,it says that setup didn't find any hdd's installed(with XP Pro disc),but they are showing up in bios.I'm going to look up my mobo's manual and look to see if the jumpers are correct.

make sure you have the drives set to IDE mode in bios, or if you have them set to raid make sure you have the raid drivers for xp
