Default CD Rom / Dvd Rom drive error

i was just using my computer normally. then i went ahead to try to make backups of a hard drive and it said it did not find a cd/dvd rom device. i was at awe, this could not be possible. i went to my computer, and sure enough, the dvd/cdrom drive did not appear. i went into the system properties and device manager, and this error was there. the virtual drive i had has an error also, and i tried to delete that virtual drive numerous amounts of times, it just would not go away.

this is the error:
Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39)

Click 'Check for solutions' to send data about this device to Microsoft and to see if there is a solution available.

i clicked check for solutions, it did absolutely nothing.

this is the drive i have

Try unplugging it and plugging it back in. Try deleting the driver and installing the one from the ASUS website (if there is one listed).
