Most drives that are certified for Windows ReadyBoost, as this one is, are usually pretty good with read/write times.

Seems like a good drive to me. Price is a factor though. How much can you pick up one of these drives for?

I paid more for my Corsair Flash Voyager 2GB less than 6 months ago.

Seems like a good deal to me.

I would look at the OCZ Rally 2 there's an 8gb, 16gb, and I think 4gb of 32 gb versions. They've gotten fantastic reviews, I just got one (8gb one) and it's great.. although I have to reformat it to NTFS so I can use files bigger than 4gb. It's very, very fast and it looks fantastic.

If you are looking for performance, do NOT get the 8gb or higher versions of any flash drive. The high performance 4gb or less ones use SLC chips, which are much faster than the MLC ones used on the bigger drives. If you think your 8gb drive is fast, just try the 4gb Patriot drive that the OP asked about.

My favorite flash drive I have (because of speed and other qualities) Is the 2 GB Corsair Flash Voyager, hehe I think I paid $18 for it from the Egg about 9 months ago, it was on sale and I couldn't resist haha, and it was a very good buy. I like it a lot more than the SanDisk 4 GB micro cruzer drive I have. The Patriot should be a good choice in a flash drive for you....Go for it .

Default EDGE DiskGO Guardian flash drive

I recently bought a new EDGE DiskGO Guardian drive. This thing rocks from both a physical toughness and data security standpoint. Going back for a 4G for my office use :

It's expensive, but cheaper than similar competing drives from the likes of Kingston. Built with only SLC flash chips in all capacities.
