RAID is when the hard drives are link together as 1 drive (as windows sees it).

Types of RAID:
RAID0: splits data across 2 drives to make faster and increase space
RAID1: Mirrors the first drive for data security.

There are other kinds, but they are based off of RAID 0 and RAID 1

RAID will allow you to have all your data on one partition (even if spread across multiple drives)
You need to have the same size drive. You could do a RAID with those 68GB drives. You would probably want RAID 0 to get the performance increase.

Wiki article that explains it well

RAID is essentially Redundant Array of Independent Disks or something...
Basically the computer recognizes 2 or more hard drives as one which increases the speed and performance of the drives.

To answer one of your questions: No, you don't have RAID right now, but you could.

I would suggest Raid 0 for faster access. I'm using it right now and I love it. I have two 320GB hard drives set up in Raid 0, which makes disk accesses about twice as fast.

However, if either one of these drives fails, then I lose all of my "data". That's why I have a third 750GB drive where I store my data. The 2x320GB Raid 0 is just for my Operating System and programs, so that things like booting and loading games will be faster.

So even with Raid 0, windows will see one 640 gb HDD but the data will be split into two(2x320).

Yeah, it stripes the data between the two so that it can theoretically transfer twice as fast.

So if i put raid 0
it will see my paritions as 1 drive
and not 2

so it might install some important system files on 1 hard drive and some on the other thinking its to same

so if 1 hard drive fails that program or os fails too if the files are on both hard drive?

thats wat i am afird of
