Only very recently, my computer has been giving me blue screen errors on a nearly daily basis. At first I thought my RAID might be acting up, but all of my data integrity checks come up positive, meaning everything checks out ok. I've set Vista to not auto restart so I could see what the BSOD errors are, and it keeps coming down to one error code: STOP 0x00008086. Googling this isn't offering me a whole lot of benefit, because most other people in with this error cannot figure out what it means. I'm running a checkdisk on my volume right now, and won't be back until tomorrow, so here is what I have done already to try and fix the situation.

1. Set everything back to stock. At first I thought my overclock may have become unstable. Even at stock I receive these errors.
2. Run the Intel Matrix software to check for integrity errors.
3. Currently running chkdsk /r

It seems other posts point to a hard drive failure, but none of my drives are coming up with any errors, and SMART readings all say they are working fine.

Any ideas?

RAID will not work on a 8086 XT computer. LOL

Seriously, this problem happens mostly with Intel and nVida southbridge chipsets.

Change the BIOS setting of Onboard SATA/IDE from AHCI to IDE and the problem should disappear.

My Bios has the SATA options of ACHI, IDE, and RAID. It is currently set to RAID so that I can use my ICH9R controller. Changing the setting to IDE would not allow me to run a RAID, which is what I am trying to do.

It seems though that my problem is VDROOP. Prior to now, my vdroop hasn't been terrible, and I was able to compensate by upping my vcore a bit. Now, however, my vdroop has become horrendous, and I was getting these errors due to bad voltages in windows. Is it normal for a board to loose it's voltage like this?
