Default Installing a New HD...Help!

Ok so yesterday i started hearing a clicking inside my computer and i think it's my HD.. and now i wanted to get a new HD cause my HD is really old and i think i need to change it. It's a IDE HD and i was thinking of getting a SATA HD..i was thinking of getting this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16822148262

Ok so the one that i'm replacing is an IDE connected to my CD/CDC drive..if i installed a SATA HD what should i do with the one that was connected to my old HD? sorry it's kinda hard to explain...

I don't understand the question. You take out the old IDE H/D, leave the end of the IDE cable hooked up to the CD ROM, then you install the SATA H/D. As long as your board and PSU are SATA compatable your fine.

BTW I have several of those H/D's, they work great.

Thanks! ok i'll try to explain it again as best as i can. I have this HD that is connected to my CD drive. i think it's an IDE HD. So i'm going to buy a new HD cause i read that SATA HD are more faster so i'm thinking of getting this HD http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16822148262 will that be alright as a replacement? i mean cause i never installed a HD before so i just want to be sure. i hope i explained it better lol.

Should be good if you're system is compatible like gibson said just take out the old one plug in the new

ok thanks! so i have another question can some1 explain after i installed the HD is there anything i need to do like in the bios? i mean what is does MASTER and SLAVE means..

Just googled your board and it does have SATA ports so you should be fine.
