500gb spinpoint SATA drive prob. HELP
I have 2 new 500gb spinpoint SATA HD501LJ's after a little prob getting them formated and windows installed i had too go into BIOS every time, Save and exit just to boot. There not set as a raid.
__________________Auto detect in bios never showed them up but the start up screen did???? I updated to via hyperion pro v520a. And auto updated the VIA bus master ide controller I've also heard there is a prob with the VIA3287 chipset and SATA 2 drives is there a fix for this??? Now C:/ drive wont boot at all or power up. D:/ drive still works only if i go into bios, save and exit.

this sounds really complicated... (sounds). what (little) problem were you running into to get them formatted? what the heck is via hyperion pro v520?? you need to slow down and give better details for your problems.

Try setting the Drives to Sata 1 mode, otherwise get a cheap sata 2 controller.
