Default dual boot ubuntu with raid 0??

Title pretty much says it all. I have googled with mixed findings, so I bring the question to you wise gentleman.

I'd like to dual boot windows vista ultimate and ubuntu with my drives in raid 0. I have heard that as long as you have the drivers for linux it is no problem. Is this true? This is for my sig rig, so if you see any other potential problems I'd appreciate the help.

Thanks guys.

You'll have to install ubuntu using the (64-bit) alternate CD.

Ah, the linux master to the rescue. Only 64 bit huh, meh ok. Does it come with raid drivers? I have installed linux many times, will the process be any different?

Also, the ubuntu 64 bit says amd64.... That a problem?

Thanks man

The alternate CD should have the necessary RAID drivers, from 8.10 onwards.

And yes, amd64 is 64-bit. (They call it this internally at Microsoft, too. It's because AMD came up with 64-bit consumer processors first and Intel had to copy them.)

Why alternate cd over the regular live I guess it is?

Oh, maybe because I will need the video card drivers to display the live?

NO, it's because they cut all the interesting and useful stuff like RAID support out of the live CD, in favor of having a bunch of software on the desktop.
