Do your other hard drives also look like they've been shot? Do you see any bullet holes on your case?

I can't see how the motor blowing could cause this much damage.

Edit: wait, did you intentionally shoot it after it failed?

One of them was an old 8gb Xbox HDD.. it held up the best, surprisingly. Filled it with black powder and exploded it but the motor still spun! Shooting it disintigrated the hard plastic case, I forget which platter it was.
