Default A lession to be learned!

Ok, where to start, well I took of my case's side panel and I took out my cases hard drive rack to give my case a good cleaning and dusting, we after was done, I put everything back and rebooted, well when I did it would just hang at the detecting aray window and then give me an error, so then I thought to my self, o crap, I must have done somthing to one of my hard drives, I tested each of mine and one didn't get dectected but the other did so I figured that one was dead, then I decieded to switch the sata connector cables for each hard drive, and now the ther hard drive would not get detected, AHA! It was the sata cable, it must have broke or fried when I was messing around with it. So I got one of the extra ones that came with my mobo and connected it and it worked! Horay, no dead hard drive, too bad I already deleated all the data off of both of the hard drives in RAID, so now after a full reinstall and reformat later I am back in buisness!

At least you didn't RMA anything just to find out that months later new hard drive installed and all it was was a stinking cable

I had an experience much like this one to find out that a stupid USB cable had shorted out. I ended up RMAing a CPU just to find out it was the stupid cable!
I had switched to my other motherboard and hooked everything up including my usb extension cable for my mouse. That was the problem. Doh!!!

Ditto! I bought a new power supply, RMA'd a CPU and a motherboard, and finally found out the problem was just the motherboard

Yeah, I have so many(8 sata ports) that it won't matter if one goes on me, I just hope mine don't though.
