Just curious to know how often people backup the data on their backup drives. Do you guys have separate backup drives for your first backup drives?

Everyday to my custom NAS. If you want a simple cheap solution for a RAID1 NAS Enclosure, get the D-Link DNS-323.

I don't backup my backups at the moment, actually. Still debating on the best solution for backing up a backup of 250GBs of important files.

Backup backups? Wow you guys are serious. DVD's as backups? I guess as a backup of a backup fine but as a primary backup not considered a good idea.

I wouldn't backup onto optical devices. They are way too fragile and too iffy to handle (insert, burn, archive etc).
If I had the cash, I'd get a large backup SSD and have it unplugged whenever I don't need it.

I actually never backup my RAID 5 array. Mostly because I have nowhere to put the 1.2TB of data on it.
