Go with the larger Intel SSD's
Much higher IOPS which is what you will notice in the end, not read speed. it will be faster than OCZ Solid x2 (in real world apps)

I didn't know Intel made SSD drives over 80GB for $500? You also might want ot consider Intel for TRIM as I'm not sure if the OCZ solid series support TRIM.

Realistically, you're budget is too low for a pair of SSDs with 200GB of storage..
At best, I would say, get three: OCZ Solid Series OCZSSD2-1SLD60G 2.5" 60GB SATA II MLC Internal Solid state disk (SSD) - Retail for near 180GB storage

yea, sadly even $500 dollars is probably too much for me to spend on bleeding edge tech...

Not too much, too little :P If you do three of those drives in my previous post it will still be fast. And while not quite 200GB still close.

hhmmmmmm, those do look promising, I'll need to do some math later to figure out how much I need, my 90GB is really cramped lol

If you can scrounge up the cash, just get an extra 7200rpm drive like the Western Digital caviar black for storage and keep your games and applications and OS on the 3 OCZ drives. That way you get speed and storage space.

I have my home server which acts as storage for documents, pics, videos, etc...combined with a gigabit lan it is quite nifty. The main problem is that I have several large apps I like to run, one of them being a fairly sizable virtual XP machine, as well as Adobe Photoshop and Premier. 180 GB sounds like it would be enough though for them and my games
