I have a quick question about partitions. I have a gaming and music partition on my hard drive along and am wondering if when installing a game do I install directly into the C drive then copy the files to the partition or install directly into the gaming partition?

I would install it directly on the partition.

Directly onto it, ok. Is there any difference in installing it to the C drive and then copying it to the partition?

Why are you trying to make this complicated by having a "Games" partition when you only have a single HDD? Why not just install it on the C:\ partition and call it good?

Install it directly to the specific partition you wish to have it on, the whole point is organization and security.

Ok, I see what you're getting at. I have never bothered with partitions to be honest.

This doesn't really work out in the end. A lot of the games (no matter how much you try to change it) still put a number of files on the system partition. If you have to reinstall, a majority of them will not work without a corresponding reinstall of the game.

That's what I was thinking about as well. What about the registry?
