HI OVERCLOCK.NET
The other day I bought 2 Seagate 7200.12 1TB drives and Windows7 Professional Edition. I am planning on setting up a Raid0 for the two new drives but am wondering what settings would be optimum and what I would need to do to set it up (eg any special buttons to press or drivers or anything). So if anyone would mind giving me A quick Tut on how to do this that would be great.

Windows vista & 7 will install drivers for you, you don't need to install any raid drivers. In your bios set from defalt ide to raid, upon reboot hit ctrl + I and that will put you in the raid set up. Defalt stripe size is 128 and thats what alot of people use, very easy to set up save and exit.

Go into bios and set everything to default settings and most important have it in raid. Then hit f10 to save settings, after post you will see to press "control+I" to go into raid options. Once in raid option chose the drives, set stripe, if you want to short stroke you can adjust the partition size. Insert windows 7 disk, restart install OS, no need to install raid drivers windows 7 has them. After windows 7 start go and download Intel Matrix Storage Console and enable write back cache.

you should also consider short stroking. same steps listed above except when you make the raid 0 array make one partition 10% of the total hdd space. this will be your OS partition. you will increase access time and also transfer speeds because the hdd needle will only need to travel a tiny distance in that partition.
make another partition with the rest of the space that's left over. that will be your storage space. put programs and stuff you access often (like games and music) in the OS partition because if the drive has to access the other partition constantly you will decrease your access time.
