Default Help Please! DVDRW

Okay so I have a Super Write Master DVDRW drive that wont read DVD's. I've tried cds and it reads them but when I put in games or DVD's it wont read it. It will say f:/ Application not found I don't know the exact make of the drive because its a drive that I got out of a New PC. Will someone Please help me!

Make sure all the cables are plugged in properly. Also, when you put a DVD in the drive try using the 'open' option rather than double clicking the icon. Finally, try a range of DVDs and not just the one. You could also try using another OS like XP or Linux just to double check if it's the drive or Win7.

No. If it helps it also did it in vista and the problem was still there when i updated to 7.

Are you sure you have DVD watching software? I assume your just trying to watch a dvd right? IF your trying to burn and your getting this problem, maybe the lense is dirty?

Whats the difference Between DVD-R DVD+R? I'm not very familiar with DVDs.

It plays CD's But no DVD's or DVDROM (Games) It Plays AOE3 and Modern Warfare But not GTA4 or movies.

you positive its DVDRW not DVDROM? download PC Wizard (freeware), it should give you info on your drive

DVD+R and DVD-R are actually very similar and both can only be written on once; however +R is not compatible with -R as DVD-R is the earlier standard. So, if your drive is DVD-R and you're trying to get it to read DVD+R, it could be your problem...
