Hi there OCN.
Having some issues with my PC as of late and wondering if anyone could shed some light onto the subject. The problem that i am having is that my PC crashed once maybe twice with a sound loop and still image on screen. the CPU was clocked at 4.5Ghz at this time and had thoughts that it could be related to that. The evidence i had to suggest it was that is that i went to boot the computer up the next morning and I could make it past the BIOS entry screen. It would simply freeze there and not do anything and make me hard reboot it. I reset the CMOS and got into BIOS to resest my settings, changing them to run at 4.2GHz instead. So i got back into Windows and everything has run fine since. Now earlier i was playing Borderlands with a couple frends online and all of a sudden i lost connection and lagged out. I cannot get my computer back online. tried a few things but can't figure it out. However the wireless is working so i'm on a laptop right now. I rebooted my PC to see if that would sort anythnig out and just after it post and checked my RAID setup, it said it needed to check the consistency of my disks. I go ahead and let it do this and by reading what was coming up, all looked fine with no errors to report on any of the three steps. Got into windows and all running ok, except I cannot connect to windows. So firstly, are my HDD's okay and any ideas on how to get online? I can connect to my router but cannot gain access to the internet. I have tried repairing the connection but that did not work. I went on the trouble shooting thing for windows live messenger and had an exclamation next to DNS. I've also tried using a differnet MAC address but that didn't seem to work. Help?

Sounds like your motherboard. Maybe it's dying, can you test your system on another hard drive to check?

...so you can eliminate the current HDD as a source of problem and move onto other parts.

I see, i don't have another HDD to test on though :/
I did run the error scan on HDTune and the HDD's came out fine on that as well. No damaged blocks and were rated healthy.

Try ipconfig/release>ipconfig/flushdns>ipconfig/renew and I would also run a chkdsk from the windows command prompt if you think that could be the problem(Reboot your router). Also try putting your oc's back to stock,to see if the problem continues.

Doesn't sound like the drive *caused* any issues, but the data on it may well be corrupted. You can validate whether the sectors are good with the tools mentioned..
