Default Will difference from Caviar Black be noticeable?

Hi guys, I'm thinking of getting a 1TB (or 2 of em) when the sales for holiday season starts rolling around the corner

I currently have a 250 GB seagate (8 mb cache) and Win7 is installed on this drive since it's my only drive.

I've been looking at the Blacks and I was wondering if I should bother transferring my Windows install directory onto that drive (aka reinstall?) because I don't feel as if anything is slow for me right now anyways. (Also what does the whole 8 mb Cache vs 32 mb mean anyways? Big difference?)

If it's not worth the time to transfer my windows installation onto the Blacks, then I might just grab 2 of the Greens for some storage.

thanks for any help!!

How new/old is the seagate,what speed ?

Like I say to most people looking at getting WD Blacks,is look into the Samsung F3's.

They will beat the WD's in every area except acess times (Im going on the results of 1TB F3 vs 640GB WD Black, which the Black would ALWAYS have a lower time becasue of its smaller platters.I havent seen any 1TB F3 vs 1TB WD benchies yet)

Edit :

WD :

this my result... lol

also isn't that s/s of the black a 1TB? (it says 1000 gb)

I've heard that WD drives last forever which is why I am more interested in the Black

could be wrong though

I guess I'll buy whichever one is cheaper hehe

If you decide on Caviar black, go with the 640mb, they are much better than the 1tb
