Im trying to flash my SSD but the TOOL used to flash SSD's wont load...

I get this error:

Invalid opcode at 0008 FF00 0002 016E 8E6D 0046 008 FF00 0002 016E 8E6D 0046 0008

What do I do from here?

Same issues from USB flash drive and CD ROM drive

Make sure that your SATA is set to compatibility or IDE, try removing any other SATA devices but the SSD. Also, the USB key must be bootable, search for HP's Bootable USB utility, then simply place the required flashing files on the key and rename one of the files to autoexec or something. Sorry can't be more accurate, it's all that I can recall and I can't look it up ATM.

What files are you talking about for the USB thing?

All I have is an ISO file.

SSD is only thing connected, its in IDE legacy mode with native IDE compatibility ON

I already ran HP's boot utility

After reading the OCZ forum it seems you are doing things right. A couple of question did you set your OC back to default setting? I have encounter that i can not flash when im overclocked but when i set it to defualt its fine.

I loaded optimized defaults on a new mobo.. I switched to a DFI X58 UT LP

Check if your blck is at 130, just to make sure your clock speed is at 2.6. From your post you already burn the iso firmware to a cd and set for cd-rom to boot 1st, IDE, SSD is connected to the 1st sata port.
EDIT: Just watch your video got a little dizzy from the camera moving...lol...it does look like it was trying load the bios...hmmm...very strange. Wish i can help you, its best to wait for a response from Tony or Ryder from OCZ.

I was just thinking, i know you want to get this flashed to FW 1.4, do you have access to another computer, you can try flashing the drive on another computer. More likely that bios fw will finally work and flashed the drive to 1.4

Turns out my USB External drive caused problems.

DOS based BIOS cant support USB based SATA devices, hence throwing that error. Removed the USB DVD drive and did flash via usb device and solved issue

Yeah the OCZ Reps are good

Some of the other members that seem established are annoying. I had one just posting the most generic responses to my problem without even reading anything... On top of me being pissed, migrane, and had a couple drinks, I was going crazy trying to make sense of this particular person's responses lol

2 good things happen in your situation, 1. you were able to flash your drive 2. we learned something new, in addition if some OCN member have a similar problem we can guide them through the problem like ryder did for you.
