Default Upgrading to W7 - quick and simple question.

Hey guys, my Windows 7 just arrived. I'm going from Vista 32-bit to 7 64-bit.

I've never actually formatted a computer with multiple Hard disks before. I have 2x 1tb WD blacks. One is just a backup of all my main disks data. Am I correct in thinking that Windows 7 only needs to format my main disk, and that the other will remain intact? Any precautions I should take (such as manually disconnecting the other HD).

Sorry for asking such a basic question but it didnt seem to turn up trumps in the search.

Thanks and *hugs* in advance

Yeah, as long as you don't choose to format your 2nd drive, Win7 will only install to the drive you choose. You could unplug the drive if you want, but there's no need.

As long as u know which hard drive is which you'll be fine. Verify how much free space is on each drive so u know which one to format.

U can disconnect the drive if you so desire for precautions, but is not necessary.

cheers,
