Default Bought a new HDD, Before and After HD Tune results.

Finally getting rid of my 5+ year old WDC 160GB. I'm looking for the fastest, highest quality possible in the $60-$70 range. Newegg is preferred but not required, will be ordering Sunday.

So far I have these:
Western Digital Caviar Black WD5001AALS 500GB

SAMSUNG Spinpoint F1 HD753LJ 750GB

I know the WD Black is a solid HDD but if the Samsung isn't lacking in quality or speed I would love to have the extra storage.

Links to benchmarks, charts, graphs, etc all appreciated. Rep will be awarded for helpful posts.

EDIT: See Page 3&4 for before and after results.

Thank you, I see there is a $10 off promo code for the 640GB WD Black. I'll definitely be considering that drive as well now. Just need some feedback on the quality/speed of the Samsung and if there is a major difference in speed with all the drives.

Very Nice.

Can anyone fill me in if there will be a noticeable difference in speed/quality with any of these drives? Mainly the Samsung because I know the WD Black HDD's are solid. I know the difference in speeds aren't going to be night and day but aren't certain platter sizes faster than others or is it not even worth worrying about?

The 16MB Cache doesn't hurt it's performance eh? This drive will outperform the others listed?

Thank you for your response. Much appreciated.

After digging around Google some more it appears that the Seagate is the top performer followed closely by the 640GB Black. Considering I am more after the performance increase rather than the size it appears the best drive for me is the Seagate. Best of all, I'm actually going to be spending less than what I had thought. Thanks for all the feedback guys, I love this place.

(Sorry for the double post, just wanted to let everyone know I have made a decision.)
