It's definitely not a Sony. You can clearly make out that the sticker there says Data Traveler, which is Kingston's line of flash drives.

Also, lulz.

I've heard of chinese manufactuers making fake xbox 360 hard drives-- using 20 gigs and making them appear as 120gb ones.

Perhaps the same sort of thing is going on here?

Why does a lie and Chinese or Japanese always come up?! This dude in my class was talking to this girl about Final Fantasy and she said it isn't released in the US until a couple of months and he said, "Why don't you do what I did? Go to Japan and get a copy then come back." I seriously wanted to hurt this kid because you don't know how many times people lie about something dealing with Chinese or Japanese.

Even if FF was already released you would still have to learn Japanese.

When I asked him to bring it, he said he couldn't since it was his dad's, but the other day I was surprised when something else equally astonishing came up. (Attached)
He refused to let me use it, benchmark it, or even verify anything.
Has anyone ever heard of something like this being possible?
If so, I just got ripped off buying my 1TB external HDD.
The picture has a 360GB, not 880GB.

Actually the claim of 360gb is not true..
I've purchased memory cards and pendrives and mp3's on my recent visit to china..

and with almost unbelivable memory/$$ ratios..

i was overblown by a 3$ 16gb pendrive
10$ mp3/4 player 32gb

and duh..nothing ever was able to store anything more than 512mb-1gb...

when i opend them up..and checkdout the numbers on chip...they were actually 512mb-1gb chips..but windows reported them as 8-32 gb...

so these chinese have a clever way of hiding true memory..don't get cheated dude... like I did

Your friend got ripped off royally, and deserves it if he didn't do his homework and buying from a questionable source. They don't even have that type casing listed on the US or china kingston site. I have seen these bogus flash drives before on ebay. It's fake, check this http://fakeflashnews.wordpress.com/2...lesale-prices/

Did he buy it from the same place that sells beach front properity in Peshawar?
