Default Adaptect 5805

I was wondering if the Adaptec 5805 is a very good card or not. I can get one at a local store I frequent for 599$ Does anyone know any issues with running it on Windows 7 Ultimate x64?

The card is reasonable - not especially outstanding. Your ICH10R will be as fast in RAID0 for the drives you have.

A better buy IMO would be the LSI SAS 9260 cards - they are newer and much faster.

If you just want a cheap card to run a storage array then a used PERC 5 or 6 from eBay would be better still - they go for $100-150, and the PERC 6/i is comparable to the 5805.
