Default Tool to repair HDD?

i think my HDD is dying on me its at 69% health, Is there a good program i can run to repair anything that might be corrupted?

have you tried running chkdsk /F?

EDIT: But I really doubt it'll work, it sounds like your HDD has already failed beyond the point of recovery..

WD has their own scan software you can download and burn to a cd/dvd and run that and it will tell you if there are any bad sectors on the hard drive and if there is it will attempt to repair and allocate the unused sectors

Thanks i used the windows one and it worked! for some reason i feel my computer is much smoother.

you should still RMA the drive it is under warranty

I dont think so, i have seagate idk why it says WD in my sig. What is their warrenty?

So you used a WD program and it worked on your Seagate?

Did you use the drive testing utility?
