Default Reading Problem

When I start my computer up, I see the nvidia motherboard boot up screen or whatever(normal). But a lot of the time now, it never reads my main hard drive(which is strange, because after I turn off and turn the system back on, it will appear magically). Any idea why this is? I'm afraid to shut my computer down anymore..

Have you tried swapping out your cables for new ones and using different sata ports.
Also DL hdtune and check for errors.

Try different ports as well, if you can.

I've tried. Whenever I install updated and restart, my hard drives show. Whenever I shut it down for a normal reason(go to school, work, etc), and I return it shows one hard drive, and the other comes up blank. It doesn't say 'None" it shows up blank.
