Default Kingston 16 GB USB stick weirdness

*only* with my Gigabyte MA790XT-UD4P does my Kingston 16 gig USB stick seem to have problems. I cannot write files to the USB drive at all; I can read them off just fine, though. I have tried both the front USB ports on my case as well as the rear ones on the motherboard. In both cases when I copy files, the OS takes a VERY long time preparing and then finally errors out stating it can't find the file(s) at all.

My OCZ Rally 4 GB stick is working just fine, though, and I'm copying 350 megs of files as we speak. My laptop can also read/write to the Kingston stick just fine, too.

I even tried bumping my North Bridge voltage up just a tad in case that might cure things; it did not.

Do I just have one of those weird USB sticks that just won't talk to some computers for whatever reason, or should I look into RMAing my motherboard?

PS/2 mouse, USB keyboard.

That said I'm backing up stuff off that USB stick onto my laptop and I'm getting a LOT of these popups. I think the USB stick is having a premature MTBF, I guess.

Update: This drive's basically useless. Looks like it's time for me to get one of those fancy OCZ 32 gig drives.

I have quite a few USB sticks. The *only* one that has ever failed is a Kingston Data Traveller.

See if you have any kind of warranty and can turn it in.
